Six services. What each one covers, and what it does not.

Everything here is quoted before it starts. Maintenance is priced per visit once the property has been seen, because a quarter-acre corner lot and a small townhouse yard are not the same job.

A fresh edge where the bed meets the lawn

Four steps, and you know the price before step three.

  • 1. You get in touchAddress and a sentence about what the yard needs. A photo helps but is not required.
  • 2. I look at the propertyUsually from the curb, and usually within two working days. You do not need to be home.
  • 3. You get a priceA per-visit figure for maintenance, or a single figure for one-off work. In writing, before anything is booked.
  • 4. Work starts on a set dayYou get a day of the week, and a message if weather moves it.
A clean mowing edge running along a concrete driveway

Lawn care and maintenance

Mow, edge, line-trim and blow down. Weekly through the growing season, every two weeks when the grass slows in winter.

Included: cutting, hard edges along drives and walks, string trimming around beds and posts, and blowing clippings off every hard surface before I leave.

Not included: bagging and hauling clippings, which is quoted separately because it is a disposal cost. Clippings stay on the lawn by default: they put nitrogen back.

On St. Augustine: the blade goes up a notch through the hot months, not down. A longer blade shades its own roots and holds moisture. Scalped St. Augustine in July is how a lawn ends up thin and full of weeds.

A freshly mulched planting bed with rows of young plants curving along a concrete walk

Beds and mulch

Re-cut edges, weed, and top up mulch so the beds read as deliberate rather than overgrown.

Included: a cut edge rather than plastic edging, hand weeding, and mulch to a depth that actually suppresses weeds instead of just looking dark for two weeks.

Not included: planting and plant supply, which is quoted per job.

Why a cut edge: plastic edging lifts in this soil and then has to be pulled out. A cut edge stays where it is put and is recut each visit.

A sabal palm after a clean trim, dead fronds removed

Trees and palms

Palm trimming, canopy raising and shrub shaping, up to what can be reached safely from the ground or a ladder.

Included: dead fronds and seed pods off, canopies raised clear of walks and drives, shrubs shaped rather than sheared into boxes.

Not included: removals, stump grinding, and anything needing a climber or a lift. Those go to a licensed arborist and I will say so rather than attempt it.

Never: topping a tree, and no spikes in a palm trunk. Spike wounds do not heal and are an open door for disease.

Fresh sod part-laid with seams visible and bare sand at the edge

Sod and re-turfing

A dead corner patched, or a whole yard taken back to sand and re-laid.

Included: stripping the old turf, grading so water runs off rather than sitting, laying with tight seams, and a watering schedule you can actually follow for the first two weeks.

Not included: irrigation installation. If the sprinklers cannot cover the new area, that gets quoted alongside rather than discovered afterwards.

Worth knowing: new sod needs more water than you expect for two weeks and less than you expect after that. A new lawn drowns about as easily as it dries out, so the schedule changes once it has rooted.

A pop-up sprinkler head running, water catching the light

Irrigation checks and repairs

A zone-by-zone run through, so you find the broken head before the brown patch tells you about it.

Included: every zone run and watched, heads straightened, raised or swapped, nozzles matched so one corner is not drowning while another is dry, and the timer set for the season.

Not included: new zones, pump work and backflow certification. Those need a licensed irrigation contractor.

On watering days: restrictions change by county and time of year. The timer gets set to what is currently allowed, and you get told what that is rather than left to find out.

A storm-felled pine cut into sections, with branches and needles piled for haul-off.

Seasonal and storm cleanup

Fronds, limbs and leaf litter cleared and taken away, booked in rather than left in a pile by the curb.

Included: clearing beds, turf and hard surfaces, cutting debris down to a size the haul will take, and removing it.

Not included: structural damage, roof work and anything involving a tree on a building. That is an insurance job before it is a landscaping one.

After a storm: the queue is first come, and I will give you a real position in it rather than a promise I cannot keep.

About the work itself.

Can I book one service without the rest?

Yes. Nothing here is bundled. A one-off cleanup or a single irrigation check is a normal thing to ask for.

Do you take on commercial properties?

Small ones, within the service area: a strip of units, a small office lot, an HOA common area. Anything needing a crew on site all day is beyond what one operator can do properly, and I will say so.

What if I only want the yard tidied once?

That is fine and is quoted as a single figure. There is no requirement to go onto a schedule afterwards.

Do you use chemicals?

Not as part of maintenance. Fertilizer and weed treatment in Florida are licensed activities, and this is not a licensed pest control business. For that you want a company that holds the license, and I will point you at one rather than do it quietly.

How far ahead do you book?

Maintenance usually starts the week after the quote. One-off work depends on the season: cleanups after a storm are the one time the queue gets long.
